Komen Austin Race for the Cure November 4th

By Contributor – October 25, 2012

We here at Austin Fit Magazine are in the process of gearing up for this year's Austin Race for the Cure on November 4th. While we're excited to lace up our shoes and get our run on, we haven't lost sight of WHY we race. The Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® provides so many individuals in our community with breast health services and support that the majority of them would not normally have access to. AFM is excited to give back and work toward finding a cure that can do away with breast cancer once and for all, join us by registering here. See you all November 4th!

Did you know the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® provides FREE breast health services, including mammograms and breast cancer treatment, to uninsured women (and men!) of the Austin area? Thanks to donations made during the Austin Race for the Cure, and other local events throughout the year, they are able to do so. Through grants to local health care providers, these local health care organizations provide services such as; breast health education, clinical breast exams, mammograms, diagnostic services, treatment support, patient navigation, transportation to and from appointments, emergency financial assistance, and household assistance.
