What do you get when you combine the oldest outdoor pool in Texas, raising money for a good cause and TONS of fun and celebration? The Deep Eddy Mile of course! The 11th Annual Deep Eddy Mile will be on Saturday, July 21, 2012. It’s a unique event that includes a 1766 2/3 yd swim (6 and 2/3 yds more than a true mile) and supports the charity efforts of Us TOO International, an organization dedicated to help men and their families make informed decisions about prostate cancer detection and treatment through support, education and advocacy. It’s open to swimmers ages 18 and older and seperated by gender in 10 year ages groups up to 70+. Every swimmer gets his own lane and there are awards for first place in each division. Because of time limitations, the Deep Eddy Mile is limited to the first 72 entrants, so reserve your spot today! While it offers an opportunity to compete, it’s a very casual and friendly event – even named Best Splash and Dash by The Chronicle!
For those of you who still haven’t signed up, hurry! The on-time registration due date is July 11, after that there is a late fee, the early bird gets the worm! To sign up simply click here to register.
