Who’s Leading in the 2012-2013 Austin Fit Magazine Distance Challenge

By Leah Fisher Nyfeler – January 2, 2013

Three down, three to go: Runners who are participating in the 2012-2013 Austin Fit Magazine Distance Challenge are halfway done. As of December, runners declared whether they were competing in the Full Track (these runners must complete the maximum distance at all of the six races and end with the LiveStrong Austin Marathon, 26.2 miles) or the Half Track (this option has runners completing the 10K and Half Marathon, 13.1 miles, at the new Rogue 30K/10K and the LiveStrong Austin Half Marathon, which is held in conjunction with the Marathon on February 17, 2013).

Listed below are the leaders in each of the age groups, broken down by gender and track chosen, as of January 1, 2013. If a category is not listed, that means that there are no competitors in that division (for example: 15-19, Female Age Groups, Half Track). For a complete listing of all participants and results, please see the Austin Runners Club webpage (austinrunners.org).

Upcoming races are the 3M Half Marathon (January 13), the Rogue 30K/10K on January 27 (see “A Sneak Peek at the New AFMDC Race,” from AFM’s December issue, which can be read online at austinfitmagazine.com), and the LiveStrong Austin Marathon and Half Marathon (February 17).
