As we become increasingly tethered to our internet connections, living a fit lifestyle becomes easier than ever (provided you can put down the phone or laptop long enough to make it happen). Smartphones make it easy to track your fitness habits with free apps like Lose It, which consolidates your workout and food diary for easy monitoring. Websites like healthfinder.gov, which offers health information from the federal government, provide a good quick reference for health questions.

Here are a few resources you may not have stumbled across in your quest to live a healthy lifestyle.

Caloriecount.com makes it easy to take control of the type of calories you’re putting into your body. The site also provides a lot of advice about living healthily.

Foodfit.com forces you to look honestly at your diet and gives you tools to make it healthier. There are lots of healthy, delicious recipes on foodfit.com.

Mapmyrun.com will keep track of how far you’re running using Google maps. Here, you can map your runs, locate new ones and log the ones you complete.

Bikely.com is a great resource for bikers– type in where you want to go and it plans a route for you based on input from other bikers.

Gymtechnik.com lets you use your BlackBerry, iPhone or Android handset as a workout journal. Access planned workouts and keep track of your progress.

Nutritiondata.com offers detailed nutrition information, plus unique analysis tools that tell you more about how foods affect your health and make it easier to choose healthy foods.

There are plenty of fitness apps for your smartphone. Take a look at this list for iPhone apps, and this one for health and fitness apps for the Android.
