Sam, I’ve been seeing articles everywhere talking about the benefits of microdosing LSD. GQ, Business Insider, Wired, even Marie Claire have been talking about it. Supposedly it makes you more creative and productive—like Adderall, but without the irritability. Is this the next trend? Should I give it a go?
Dear Tripping Out About Tripping Out,
Fact: Microdosing is trendy. Truth: Most humans follow the crowd. But (that is a big-ass “BUT”) when something is trending, it doesn’t mean you’ve gotta dive in and do it too. I’m glad you are asking about it! Think on this: Why do you need it? What’s your issue? Is this your best solution?
It's not yet proven that LSD microdosing improves cognitive processing to make you more creative or focused. In fact, studies are still being investigated regarding safety and tolerability of low doses of LSD. Presently, no companies are working with LSD in a drug development context.
That should make you go, “Hmmmmmm, WTF!”.
Stressed, anxious, can’t focus? I suggest you evaluate your lifestyle, and make healthy changes. Include transcendental meditation and aerobic exercise regularly. Improve your nutrition and add supplements that can mimic the effects of Adderall without dangerous side effects. Consult with a dietitian, naturopathic, or holistic practitioner.
Who the F cares what everyone else is doing? You are the priority. What you do sets the direction for a successful, healthy future. The lone wolf is a badass, fearless and fierce. He follows his own path, and doesn’t need to always run with the pack.
Sam, Even though it’s October, it’s still hot as heck here! And, I have to admit, I sweat a lot. I want to take my shirt off at the beginning of class, but I also don’t want to be “that guy.” If I keep my shirt on, it’ll be completely soaked by the time we finish. Seems like a lose-lose situation for me. When is the appropriate time to go shirtless? (If there is one.)
Dear Shirts vs. Skins,
Chill, Tarzan, there are times to go shirtless. At a gym, in a fitness class, is NOT the time. Some classes even have “no nipple” rules. CrossFit classes and most outdoor bootcamps consider it kosher, though.
Playing football or basketball at the park, in a bodybuilding competition, kayaking or swimming? Take it off! In bed? Take it allllll off.
Otherwise, go splurge on a dri-fit shirt. Even if the schmuck next to you is shirtless, don’t be that guy.

Sam, I push. I sweat. I love a great workout. But while I’m there, how can I get the attention of that hot guy in my class?
Dear Glistening,
Is your gym the social gym where the workout is secondary or the gym where training is a priority?
I’ll assume ‘training is a priority’ since you love a challenging workout. Keep keepin’ your energies on you and your killa’ workout. This confidence is sexy-strong and bound to attract the attention of that hot guy in your class…if he is worth it.
