Dr. Matt Lowe opened his first Dynamic Sports Medicine office in West Austin in 2016, settling on a quaint building off of 5656 Bee Cave Road.

“It started off as a one-man show,” said Dr. Lowe, a former professional swimmer, seven-time All-American for Texas and two-time U.S National Champion. “I opened my doors and had zero patients, so I had to figure things out quickly.”

Eight years later, his practice, which offers world-class chiropractic and recovery care, has three more locations in downtown Austin, Cedar Park and the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex and has plans to expand even further in 2025. Dr. Lowe has also served as USA Swimming’s team chiropractor and a member of its medical staff.

“I started Dynamic Sports Medicine with the initial goal of providing the general population and community with techniques and technology that had been typically reserved for the NFL, NBA and high-level college athletics,” Dr. Lowe, 39, said.

“These treatments weren’t always accessible to the public, so I wanted to find a way to provide that to the community at a reasonable cost to keep quality of care at the highest level.”

What To Expect From Dynamic Sports Medicine

Today, Dr. Lowe and his team of 12 doctors and 15 support staff offer a litany of health solutions to clients across the Austin Metro and DFW, including chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release, shockwave therapy, dry-needling, red light therapy and more. You can find the practice’s full array of services on its website.

“There’s a whole range of techniques and modalities we utilize,” Dr. Lowe said. “We never prescribe a cookie-cutter treatment. Whatever you need that day or that week is what we’ll do.”

Dr. Lowe said his clinics serve a wide range of clients, from the 30- to 60-year-old patients “who want to continue training for 5Ks, golf outings and tennis games” to professional athletes and youth athletes.

“(Our clients) want to get faster, stronger and perform at their best every day” Dr. Lowe said. “We play an important role in that process.”

The North Dakota native arrived in Austin in 2004 and swam for the Longhorns through 2008, earning a range of accolades, including seven Big 12 championships and a few appearances for the U.S. National Team. He reached the semifinals of the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials and was ranked inside the top 15 in the world during his career.

After Dr. Lowe’s professional career in the pool ended, it wasn’t long until he returned to the national team. He’s currently a member of Team USA Swimming’s high performance medical staff, operating as its chiropractor, and has been with the team over the last two Olympic cycles.

“It’s been great working with USA Swimming again,” he said.

Today, Dr. Lowe is overseeing a business that continues to grow. While he says he never anticipated the demand, success came over time and his practice began to branch out. Dr. Lowe says he is strategically thinking about where his team’s services can best serve the wider community.

“It was a lot of work early on, long weekends and nights,” Dr. Lowe said. “Eventually, my clinic was full. Then an opportunity came to open a new location in Cedar Park, and then another in downtown Austin. The growth has been really organic.”

Dr. Lowe said 2025 will see the clinic’s reach extend further in the DFW and Austin.
