Downtown Austin Alliance hosts its annual Downtown Holiday Stroll where Austinites can gather to exercise their voices with caroling, stretch their legs by walking through the large market of art and food, and dance to live music. The event will take place between 5 and 10 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Running through downtown and one of the Historic Districts is Sights & Sounds of Christmas’ Santa’s Jingle Bell Run. The adult’s 5K starts and finishes at the San Marcos Plaza Park while the kids’ 1K travels through the Sights & Sounds festival. The race will take place on Dec. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Ballet Austin is bringing back their annual holiday dance workshop this year to the iconic Christmas song “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey. Release any tension and stress and engage your inner holiday spirit by dressing up in Santa hats and jingle bells and learning fun choreography on Dec. 13 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Take on MOD Fitness’ annual 12 Days of Fitness Challenge for a chance to enter different giveaways each day with another local business or a special sale at MOD Fitness. The challenge runs from Dec. 6 to 17, and those who participate will receive bingo cards with activities and goals to complete throughout the challenge.
Swift Fit Events offers free GROUNDED YOGA every Sunday to Dec 19. Come to the Austin Fareground’s outdoor plaza where mats, towels and water will be provided, but register for a free ticket online first!
Release your inner holiday dance spirit with Monica Landois’ Jingle Glow Dance Fitness Party at 7 p.m. on Dec. 21 and 22. Jam out to classic and iconic holiday music while exercising your heart, lungs and legs.
Spend time with your family outdoors with adventurous camp activities like canoeing, archery and ziplining at YMCA Camp Moody’s Winter Family Camp. Camp runs for three hours from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Dec. 20, 21, 28 and 29.

Austin Trail of Lights hosts this Fun Run annually but has changed the course to online to promote safety throughout COVID-19.
On top of the Whole Foods on North Lamar Boulevard, families, couples and singles can skate and practice balancing on the frosty rooftop skating rink hosted by CultureMap. The rink is open from late November to late January.
